Showtime for Second Nine Weeks
Showtime for the second nine weeks was held on Thursday, January 7, 2o10. Students sung a Character Trait Shout Out by Ron Boren.

Happy Thanksgiving
There will be no school on Wednesday (25th) through Friday (27th). School will resume on Monday the 30th.
Flu Shots
Flu shots will be given to students that have turned in all the necessary paperwork to the school nurse. The shots will be given on November 9th and 10th.
No School Thursday and Friday
There will be no school on Thursday (5th) and Friday (6th). School will resume on Monday (9th).
No Tutoring
This is a reminder that there will be no tutoring on Monday (12th) and Wednesday (14th).
We Read 100 Books
This fall, students in Mrs. Arnold’s class pledged to read 100 books as part of Scholastic Book Clubs’ ClassroomsCare program. On October 6, 2009, they reached their goal of reading 100 books. Now, Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning and Scholastic Book Club will donate one million books to disadvantaged children.

First Day of School
First day of school was a great success. All students were very eager to learn. In fact, we actually got in a word study, math, and a writing lesson. This year is going to be very good. Hopefully, tomorrow we can get some pictures of everyone working.
Reminders:
Activity/Scholastic News: $15 are due as soon as possible
Homework Sheet: Check your child’s backpack and make sure that you bring the homework sheet back on Friday with a parent signature
Spelling Test: There will be a spelling test this Friday. The words are simple short a and long a words.
Open House Papers: If you have not turned in your signed papers from Open House please do so as soon as possible.
Open House was a Success
Thanks to all my parents and students. Open House was a success. 100% showed up between 6 and 7. This was the first time this has happened in my four years of teaching. It is going to be a great year.
We will see everyone bright and early on Wednesday morning. Students are to report to the gym for Morning Celebration.
