About Me….
Author: LouABOUT MY FAMILY: I am happily married for 6 years to Michael Arnold, who currently works for IT at the Monticello School District. We have two children, Ashton (4) and Kaylee (1). Ashton is currently attending the ABC Preschool at Drew Central Elementary. For fun, our family loves to go on outings to the park and eat at Ameca.
ABOUT MY EDUCATION: I graduated from Eudora High School as valedictorian in 1997. From there I attended Arkansas State University, only to transfer to the University of Arkansas Monticello to earn my bachelor’s in early childhood/special education in December 2005. After completing my bachelor’s, I enrolled in Grand Canyon University graduate school. In August 2007, I earn my Masters of Education in Reading Instruction and Curriculum.
MY TEACHING CAREER: I started my internship in a special edcuation classroom at Philadelphia Elementary in Jonesboro. The second half of my internship was completed in first grade at McGehee Elementary. In January 2006, McGehee School District hired me to take the place of a first grade teacher that was leaving. In August 2006, I was hired by Drew Central School District to teach kindergarten. I taught kindergarten for two years. This year I have been placed in a second grade classroom.
ABOUT MY CHURCH: I currently attend Journey Church in Monticello, AR with my family. We enjoy going every Sunday. Michael and I work in the sound booth. He does the sound while I do the slides for the lyrics to the songs. I really enjoy working next to him. Ashton attends the preschool classroom and enjoys every minute of it. Kaylee stays in the nursery while Michael and I worship. On Sunday nights, we attend a small group at the Nobles’ home (one of the pastors of Journey). We love to call this church our home.
