Why?

ATM Machine

For years, I have been wondering about this note on the ATM machine at Simmons Bank.

The pink note in the corner reads: “This is not a trash can. It is for deposit only. Thanks.”

Why? Why must we put a sign on the ATM machine to tell people that it is not a trash can? Is this not obvious. What does this say for our town and the kind of people in it?

Broken Relationships

forgiveness.gifIf you cherish sin in your heart, the Lord will not listen. Psalm 66:18

The number one sin is broken relationships. How often we break ties with close friends because of a slight disagreement? We are supposedly grown people but we drop relationships because of something silly. Believe me, I know this because I have been there.

I had a really great friend in college. She was the first person that I called my best friend. We did everything together. Two peas in a pod that could not be separated. The one day something happen. I don’t know why we went our separate ways. We did not speak to each other for several years. STUPID! Why did we separate? Why did we break our relationship off? It was a great relationship that was thrown down the toilet because of some disagreement.

Here’s a quick scenario of how silly it is to have broken relationships. If someone gives you a $20 bill would you take it? Of course. If they balled the $20 in their fist, would you still take it? Of course. If they threw on the ground and stomped all over it, would you take it? Of course. If they tore it into two pieces, would you take it? Of course, you could tape it. Why not tape up a broken relationship?

About 2 years ago, I taped up my torn relationship with my best friend. What an amazing thing this has done in my life. This tape has allowed me to gain my friend back. Of course, not all situations will end like this.

Refering back to the verse from Psalm written above, it describes what broken relationships lead to. It is sin. Yes, it is because you are holding hatred to someone. Putting peace between you and that person is just what God (not the doctor, but God) has ordered. Pride stands in our way from allowing us to become closer to God.

Challenge: I challenge you to bring peace with yourself and God about a broken relationship that may be in your life. What do you have to loose? If you do you will gain a closer walk with God.

Writer’s Block

Author: Lou  //  Category: Life

writers_block_4001.gif I have writer’s block. I never get writer’s block. I can write for days on one subject without getting tired. Well, now the cat has my finger. I volunteered to write a faith story for my church. I was thinking, yeah I can do this. No problem, I love to write. WRONG!!!! I have tried all day to write the story. I have probably wrote about 20, but they just were not good enough. If I had a type writer, instead of a computer, you would see those balled up sheets of paper all over the floor. All I can say, is that I have WRITER’S BLOCK!! I would blog more, but I have WRITER’S BLOCK!
